Crossroads...

There are two ways to go when you hit that crossroads in your life: There is the bad way, when you sort of give up, and then there is the really hard way, when you fight back. I went the hard way and came out of it okay. Now, I'm sitting here and doing great.

Hi my friends,

Where is that: "Wolf Alley" meets "No. 1 Rodeo Rd"...?

That's the moment when you'll be far out somewhere in deep country side.
Actually you'll be in Wyoming, actually you'll be in Aladdin, Wyoming! A little sleepy village where only 15 people are living - yes, 15 only!
Hard to believe, right? :)

I think for myself, it would be a quiet way to remote place in country side.
What about you?

Thank you also for all the kind comments and I wish you a nice weekend with not to much snowfall!

I wish I could see snow again :)
Susanne

You know, I have my CALENDARS 2010 for sale, right?
Grab one, make somebody happy for Christmas.

Is this the way to Amarillo?

This is how it was looking the next morning in Albuquerque: SNOW!

On the road again to Texas and in between was Tucumcari...

...and also a ghost town...

If you know where Tucumcari is, you will know too that we were on the legendary "Historical Route 66" again - as you can see in this picture

...or this one: a Mexican Restaurant...

.... or this pretty "Blue Swallow Motel"...

But I think this business is "out of order" since long time already

Tucumcari is known for all the beautiful painted murals from the high time of Route 66

Riding cowboy mural on Route 66

I like this one very much!

Front and site walls of this Motel are murals

Back in Texas again!

And the landscape went FLAT - flat as flat can be...

but, with beautiful warm colors

and pretty clouds at the Bridwell West Ranch

Texas cows

The only way to the horizon

....if eaten in one hour!!!... can you do that...? :))

The Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. Tomorrow I'll show you more photos from this funky place

Cadillac Ranch is a public art installation and sculpture in Amarillo, Texas, U.S. It was created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, who were a part of the art group Ant Farm, and it consists of what were (when originally installed during 1974) either older running used or junk Cadillac automobiles, representing a number of evolutions of the car line (most notably the birth and death of the defining feature of early Cadillacs; the tail fin) from 1949 to 1963, half-buried nose-first in the ground, at an angle corresponding to that of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The piece is a statement about the paradoxical simultaneous American fascinations with both a "sense of place" — and roadside attractions, such as The Ranch itself — and the mobility and freedom of the automobile.

Hi my friends,

I hope you've enjoyed my photos from our trip to Amarillo and we are still sitting here.
I have photographed today also a wonderful sunset on the prairie - that will be online also tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments!!

I Need Some Fresh Mountain Air!

I can't stand it anymore....! I really need some fresh mountain air to breath and to see new regions of this beautiful country!

No, no, no...... I'm not going to Switzerland for vacations, I'm going tomorrow to the East Rocky's for the next coming days. That means in other words: I'll be OFF from blogging for the next days to come, my friends. Please don't go away - I'll be back next weekend or even earlier, for sure.

BTW, the photo above is from the "Glarner Mountains" in Switzerland. I made it on the way up to the Klausenpass. There, where the winters are long and the summer is too short - but it's beautiful there, believe me!
And something like that is what I need to see NOW! :-)

See ya...later!
