From Las Vegas,NM to Pueblo, CO
Passing the borders to Colorado, we had to climb up the "Raton Pass"Raton Pass
(7834 feet or 2388 meters elevation) is a mountain pass on the Santa Fe Trail along the Colorado-New Mexico border in the United States. Raton Pass is a federally designated National Historic Landmark. Ratón is Spanish for "mouse."
The pass is located on the eastern side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains between Trinidad, Colorado and Raton, New Mexico, approximately 100 miles (160 km) northeast of Santa Fe. The pass crosses the line of volcanic mesas that extends east from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains along the state line, and furnishes the most direct land route between the valley of Arkansas River to the north and the upper valley of the Canadian River, leading to Santa Fe, to the south.
Wagon Mound - a tiny little sleepy town with horses and RodeosWagon Mound is a village in Mora County, New Mexico, United States. It is named after and located at the foot of a butte called Wagon Mound, which was a landmark for covered wagon trains and traders going up and down the Santa Fe Trail and is now Wagon Mound National Historic Landmark. The shape of the mound is said to resemble a Conestoga wagon. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 369. It was also called Santa Clara for many years. The village, with brightly painted houses and several stores and shops, is located on the plains of northeastern New Mexico. Interstate 25, which skirts the west side of town, gives a view of the majority of the town. Wagon Mound is not growing rapidly, but it has seen new construction along I-25, with new buildings on the northeast side of town as well. A planned high-speed commuter rail line between Santa Fe and Raton bodes well for the future of this small town
We arrived in Pueblo, Colorado on a nice RV place. This is the view when I open the door. Isn't it pretty? I enjoy very much to see the mountains again, I mean REAL mountains, like I know from Switzerland...it feels almost like to be home....LOL...
Pretty flowers in front of the office at the RV Place - it's springtime also here in Colorado!Hi my friends,
I hope you've enjoyed all the photos from the last 2 posts. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and for all your visits on my blog. Stay with me, I'm happy to share my photography with you and if you have any questions about what you are seeing here or if you want to buy one or two of my photos, please contact me over my email address (to see in the right column on my bog, scroll down...) for further details.
We will be on the road again tomorrow, heading more to the North for a little while, without a clear goal just now. Sometimes it feels like we are traveling like the wind...LOL.. oh, btw, Colorado is a very pretty State! :)
Stay tuned and have a nice weekend y'all!

It's a sign and a prove that spring time is back here in Charleston, after some really frosty days we had.

Five Signs of Springtime
Yesterday's nice weather tempted many people out of their houses - we too.Strolling up and down the streets and the small picturesque lanes in Down Town, I found these five remarkable signs of springtime. If it stays this way from now on, the whole city will be a sea of blooming flowers and trees.
I'm so excited to have a seasonal change for once - which I never had in Key West's eternal summer time!

Enchanted Tulips

ENCHANTED TULIPS
TULIPS white and tulips red,
Sweeter than a violet bed!
Say, old Mother Bailey, say
Why your tulips look so gay,
Why they smell so sweet, and why
They bloom on when others die?
"By the pixies' magic power
Do my tulips always flower,
By the pixies' magic spell
Do they give so sweet a smell!
Tulips, tulips, red and white,
Fill the pixies with delight!
"Pixy women, pixy men,
Seek my tulips from the glen;
Midnight come, they may be heard
Singing sweet as any bird,
Singing their wee babes to rest
In the tulips they love best!"
