Miss Venezuela Stefania Fernandez Is Miss Universe 2009

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas. It made history when an outgoing queen crowned her successor from the same country. Stefanía Fernández, Miss Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2009 by outgoing titleholder Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela. Below are some photos from the pageant.

Red Bull Flugtag Moscow 2009

The Red Bull Flugtag took place in Moscow on August 9. It is an event owned and operated by Red Bull in which competitors attempt to fly homemade human-powered flying machines. The flying machines are usually launched off a pier about 30 feet (9.1 m) high into the sea (or suitably sized reservoir of water). Most competitors enter for the entertainment value, and the flying machines rarely fly at all.
